United States Mint Opens Sales for 2018 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin on January 4

WASHINGTON – The United States Mint will kick off the New Year with the release of the 2018 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin (product code 18EA) on January 4, at noon Eastern Time (ET).

Since its debut in 1986, the obverse (heads) of this coin has featured Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Its reverse (tails) continues to feature former Mint Sculptor-Engraver John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.

American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coins are struck on 99.9 percent fine silver blanks and display the “W” mint mark indicating their production at the West Point Mint. Each coin is encapsulated and packaged in a satin-lined blue velvet presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The 2018 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin is priced at $55.95. Orders will be accepted at www.catalog.usmint.gov and at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). This product will also be available at the Mint’s sales counters in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, PA and Denver, CO. COMING SOON – World War I _100th Anniversary 2018 Intaglio Print Collection

First Day of Sale: January 9, 2018 (8:00 a.m. EST) – The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is pleased to introduce the newest addition to the Intaglio Print Subscription Program, the World War I – 100th Anniversary 2018 Intaglio Print Collection.

The Treasury Department issued Liberty Loans and Victory Bonds produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to assist with financing the Great War. This collection highlights inspiring allegorical and historical figures featured on these bonds, engraved American iconography, and currency issued during the War.

This World War I 100th Anniversary commemorative collection consists of three intaglio prints – Entry, Homefront, and Victory. The first card, Entry, will go on sale January 23, 2018. The second card, Homefront, will go on sale March 8, 2018. The third card, Victory, will go on sale August 14, 2018 in conjunction with BEP’s participation in the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) World’s Fair of Money Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Legend Rare Coin Auctions Begins 2018 with Regency Auction 25 Featuring Many Important Rarities

(Lincroft, NJ)—Legend Rare Coin Auctions will be conducting its 25th Regency Auction on January 25, 2018 in conjunction with the PCGS Members’ Only Show at the Luxor in Las Vegas. The 349 lot auction begins with the Ipswich Collection of three cent silvers. From there, the firm presents high grade and high end quality issues from the early days of the first U.S. mint in Philadelphia to rare key date issues of popular 20th century series.

One of the major gold highlights is a real GEM $20 1920 PCGS MS65, one of the two finest graded by PCGS in 37 years of coin grading!”
