WASHINGTON — The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for the 2017 United States Mint Proof Set (product code 17RG) on March 29 at noon Eastern Time (ET).
This set includes the following coins with the “S” mintmark of the United States Mint at San Francisco:
- Five America the Beautiful Quarters® Program coins honoring Effigy Mounds National Monument (Iowa), Frederick Douglass National Historic Site (Washington, DC), Ozark National Scenic Riverways (Missouri), Ellis Island (Statue of Liberty National Monument) (New Jersey), and George Rogers Clark National Historical Park (Indiana).
- One Native American $1 Coin with a reverse design featuring a profiled likeness of Sequoyah writing “Sequoyah from Cherokee Nation” in syllabary (Cherokee writing system) along the border of the design.
- One Kennedy half-dollar
- One Roosevelt dime
- One Jefferson nickel
- One Lincoln penny
The coins are sealed in two protective lenses to accentuate and maintain their exceptional quality. In 2017, the front of the carton has an image of the Washington Monument at sunrise. The back of the carton has an image of each America the Beautiful Quarters national park or site honored in 2017 (along with the year in which it was first established as a national site, its name, and the host jurisdiction), and the partial obverse coin images of the remaining coins. A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies each set.

WASHINGTON – The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for the 2017 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin (product code 17EA) on March 23 at noon Eastern Time (ET).
The obverse (heads side) of this coin features Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Its reverse (tails side) features former Mint Sculptor-Engraver John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.
American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coins are struck on .999 fine silver blanks and bear the “W” mint mark indicating their production at the United States Mint at West Point. Each coin is encapsulated and packaged in a satin-lined blue velvet presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Products containing gold coins will be priced according to the Mint’s 2017 Pricing of Numismatic and Commemorative Gold and Platinum Products Grid posted at https://www.usmint.gov/
The introductory sales period ends on April 10 at 3 p.m. ET, when regular pricing takes effect.
Public Law 114-30 authorizes the Mint to strike and issue up to 50,000 $5 gold coins, 350,000 silver dollar coins, and 300,000 half dollar clad coins in proof and uncirculated finishes. Customer demand will determine the ratio of proof to uncirculated coins minted within the authorized mintage limits.
The sales price of each coin includes surcharges-$35 for each gold coin, $10 for each silver coin, and $5 for each clad half dollar coin-which the law authorizes the Mint to pay to Boys Town in support of its mission of caring for and assisting children and families in underserved communities across America.
