WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 7, 2019) — The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and the United States Mint (Mint) will share booth #1825 at the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) World’s Fair of Money, August 13 – 17, 2019, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
United States Mint Director David J. Ryder and BEP Director Len Olijar will participate in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 13, at 12:45 p.m. (ET), followed by a product signing event at booth #1825 from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. On Wednesday, August 14, Mint Director Ryder and Royal Canadian Mint President and CEO Marie Lemay will be available to sign certificates of authenticity for their new, joint product, Pride of Two Nations, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (ET).
The BEP is showcasing its Billion Dollar Exhibit featuring more than $1 billion worth of rare antique currency, including sheets of $100,000 currency notes, Treasury Bonds, and Gold and Silver Certificates. A BEP Plate Printer will also demonstrate currency production on a 19th century Spider Press. Also, a drawing will held for the opportunity to receive a special, engraved Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Moon Landing commemorative print.
In keeping with BEP’s tradition of creating distinct currency, the BEP is especially excited to offer the latest new product for sale:
2019 $2 Rocketship – In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, the 2019 $2 Rocketship features an uncirculated, Series 2013 $2 Federal Reserve note, with a serial number beginning with “2019.” The colorful packaging features fun facts for kids and an embossed rocket ship and moon in outer space. The $2 note is protected by a clear, acid-free, polymer sleeve. Limited availability.
The BEP will also offer other unique currency-related products, including uncut currency sheets in various subject sizes and denominations.
The Mint has planned several outreach activities, such as:
- Unveiling designs for the 2020 America the Beautiful Quarters® Program;
- Unveiling designs for the 2020 American Innovations Program;
- Display holograms of various characters and products at the booth;
- Visiting “Mighty Minters” Eli the Fox and Layla the Pea Hen;
- Providing an assortment of educational resources for educators;
- Providing children the opportunity to gather information on the Mint’s H.I.P. Pocket Change website to engage in educational activities, learn about Mint programs and operations, and gain an understanding of the link between coins and American history and culture;
- Attendees can provide their email addresses to access to receive product updates and alerts and opt-in as a Mint customer;
- Participation with the BEP in the “Treasure Trivia” game, where children visit specific locations on the bourse floor to answer trivia questions designed to instill an appreciation for numismatics;
- Participating in the World Mints’ Passport Program, an exciting program in which visitors collect coins from participating mints;
- Providing the most recently released America the Beautiful Quarters coin for even exchange;
- Posting live tweets on daily activities – follow us on Twitter; and
- Assisting visitors in downloading its mobile application, MyUSMint.
An assortment of Mint products will be available for purchase over the counter – the 2019 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin™, 2019 American Liberty High Relief Silver Medal™, 2019 Might Minters™ Ornaments, and 2018 American Innovation™ $1 Reverse Proof Introductory Coin. WASHINGTON — The United States Mint (Mint) will begin accepting orders for the 2019 American Liberty High Relief Silver Medal™ (product code 19DB) on Aug.15 at noon EDT. The medal is priced at $99.95.
This unique medal is struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 2.5 ounces of 99.9 percent silver, measures two inches in diameter, and has a matte finish.
The medal displays the same modern rendition of the iconic figure of Liberty as the 2019 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin, which also goes on sale on Aug, 15. The obverse (heads) features Liberty with 13 rays of light emanating along her headdress, symbolizing the free and creative spirit of America’s people. Obverse inscriptions are “LIBERTY” and “2019.” The reverse (tails) features a bald eagle as it prepares to land. The reverse inscription is “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
Each exquisite medal is packaged in an elegant black lacquered hardwood presentation case and comes with the Mint’s customary Certificate of Authenticity.

WASHINGTON — The United States Mint (Mint) is opening sales for the 2019 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin™ (product code 19DA) on Aug. 15 at noon EDT. This coin is struck at the West Point Mint, contains one ounce of 99.99 percent fine, 24-karat gold and has an enhanced uncirculated finish.
The 2019 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin continues the celebration of modern renditions of the iconic figure of Liberty. Its predecessor—the 2017 225th Anniversary High Relief Gold Coin™—won Best Gold Coin in Krause Publications’ 2019 Coin of the Year Awards.
The obverse (heads) of this coin features Liberty with 13 rays of light emanating along her headdress, symbolizing the free and creative spirit of America’s people. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “2019,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The reverse (tails) design features a bald eagle as it prepares to land. The inscriptions are “$100,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ.,” “.9999 FINE GOLD,” and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
Each exquisite coin is packaged in a black hand-lacquered hardwood presentation. A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is included. Mint Director David J. Ryder autographed a limited number of the COAs.

WASHINGTON — The United States Mint (Mint) will begin accepting orders for the James Monroe Presidential Silver Medal (product code S805) on Aug. 8 at noon EDT. This medal is the third of four .999 fine silver presidential medals slated for release this year.
The obverse (heads) of the James Monroe Presidential Silver Medal was designed by Moritz Furst. The design features a portrait of the president with the inscriptions “JAMES MONROE,” “PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.,” and “A.D. 1817.”
The medal’s reverse (tails) was designed by John Reich. It bears the inscription “PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP” symbolized by two hands clasped in token of amity. On the cuff of the left wrist are three stripes and buttons, while the other wrist is bare. A crossed peace pipe and tomahawk are above the hands.
Each encapsulated medal comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

WASHINGTON — The United States Mint (Mint) will open sales for the American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coins (product code 19EM) on Aug. 6 at noon EDT. This coin is struck at the San Francisco Mint. American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coins are struck on 99.9 percent fine silver blanks.
For 33 years, the obverse (heads) of this iconic coin has prominently displayed Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. Its reverse (tails) features former Mint Sculptor-Engraver John Mercanti’s rendering of a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.
Each coin is encapsulated and packaged in a satin-lined blue velvet presentation case. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.

WASHINGTON — United States Mint (Mint) Director David Ryder welcomed Royal Canadian Mint CEO Marie Lemay to the Mint’s Philadelphia coining facility today to launch the 2019 Pride of Two Nations Limited Edition Two-Coin Set™. The Set commemorates the nationhood of both countries with coins that capture their rich history, pride, and their close relationship as neighbors and friends. This unique product is a joint coin set between the two Mints.
“Not only do the United States and Canada share a border, but we also share history and many cultural values that have resulted in an enduring relationship,” Ryder said. “This coin set is a fitting tribute to our abiding friendship, strong alliance, and commitment to cooperation.”
The limited edition set became available for purchase today at noon EDT through the Mint’s online catalog at catalog.usmint.gov. Priced at $139.95, it contains a United States Mint American Eagle One Ounce Silver Coin with an enhanced reverse proof finish and a Royal Canadian Mint One Ounce Silver Maple Leaf Coin with a modified proof finish. The set comes with the first bilingual Certificate of Authenticity produced by the United States Mint.
A limited supply of the two-coin set was available for purchase following the brief ceremony, with Mr. Ryder and Ms. Lemay signing Certificates of Authenticity upon request.
